Visions (The Ocean)
05:10

Twisted delirium, drunk, experiencing chaotic cycles of clasps
Hand on hand,
Why am I smoking right now?
Why am I moving right now?
Uninteresting degradation, give me explosive,
got visions, ramshackle.
Visions
I've got visions
I've got visions, visions of a million year, visions
Visions of a million year long pause between lifetimes, I cycle up from the deep Atlantic, just a crack, a growing furrow when I first knew it, now wide and wise, as ocean spans beyond the sides of my home, ancient volcanic sputter creating cataclysms of stone and warm, warped smokestacks searing my skin as I drift upward and away from the seabed,
Prufrock's claws scampering across stones and silent heaving waves whipping crinoid fronds back and forth underneath the terrible, incredible weight of the ocean above...
The weight that expels me away, squeezing me upward and upward, until I'm away from the seabed, away from the familiar ground but not yet at the surface, rushing upward with impossible speed, the water tearing at my skin like little hooks, the ocean a black void flecked with the infinite miniature creatures swarming around me, who fly past my eyes as tiny streaks, like specks on film moving faster than the eye can see, until I'm alone in the dark, moving forever upward, faster and faster toward the unseen light above...
Which I know glimmers somewhere above my head, beyond the invisible border of impenetrable ocean-water's density, some sunlight, some shining vision of life as I knew it, when the ocean was young, a sliver cracking through the old continent, until it burst and filled with water on the new land, and the light receded and I left it and now, long overdue, return upward, and now I see it, it glimmers like angel's fingers through the sea's turgid surface...
Still so far above, who break open the crust of the ocean, allow light to pour downward onto me, the last moment I knew in the ocean, the last seconds of water, before I flew, before I flew, light and freed, in the hollow void of air, not the cavern of a bubble, or the secret hiss of the off-gassing seabed, but freed air, whole air, the atmosphere, all those bubbles aspired, the realm of gossamer; I floated and found a gust of wind to carry me away above green fields, above cities, above mountains, above plains, above homes, above the world, and away across the planet's great green face.
These are my visions, visions of a millions years.
These are my visions.
Have you seen the ocean?
Have you felt the wave?
Have you been under
that crash? Strange,
blue light,
that comes from above.
Deep in the water,
floating with love,
where do we come from?
Where do we go?
Back to the water,
back in flow.
Don't you know
the ocean's our home.
Don't you know
you can't go alone.

Say It Again

[lets listen as she does one and I think you'll really like this]
who would have known?
taking my name in vain
who would have known?
who would have known?
you take my name in vain
ill put you back into your grave
say a thing out loud
and i wont say it again (no no no)
and you dont play dumb
and you want some
the thing that you cant defend
you take my name in vain
and i'll tell you again
i'll put you back into your grave
who would have known?
who would have known?
who would have known?
you take my name in vain
you take my name in vain
ill put you back into your grave (no no no)
you say a thing out loud or anything again
wont play dumb
you say something that you cannot defend
you wont say it again
who would have known?
who could have known?
who would have known?
